Photography: Shots, Rules and Angles After learning about various types of photography, me and my classmates, armed with our cameras, ventured off to capture the wilderness of our school in view of our new knowledge. We made groups of three. I was grouped with classmates, Minahil Tanvir and Ayesha Shahid. All of us took turns photographing various objects and practicing an array of shots and implementing a variety of rules. Satisfied with the results we compiled them in three categories:  Rules of Photography Camera Shots Camera Angles This experience has not only shown us how to take brilliant pictures but also developed in us a sense of camaraderie. By being constructively critical of all the pictures taken, regardless of who took them, we were able to compile and present work which we are proud of. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Magazine Double Spread Analysis After slaving for days, I have at long last, completed the last of my assignments, the double spread analysis. The double spreads are one of if not the most important element of a good magazine. The double spreads contain the actual contents of the magazine that have been teased and hinted at in the cover and content pages. Like any good mystery, it is important that the enigma is solved with a satisfying explanation (in this case, the article). I have chosen three very contemporary double spreads to understand how a successful double spread can be created and the exact impact of every element that goes into making it. Double Spread Analysis #1 Double Spread Analysis #2 Double Spread Analysis #3 Interestingly enough, the subjects of some of these double spreads ended up introducing me to new media products that I discovered I enjoy. I write this blog post while head banging to Ecca Vandal's 'Future Heroine'. My favourite part
Content Page Analysis An incredible magazine consists of an attractive cover page but that isn't the only element pertinent for the success of a magazine. It's important and more often than not, necessary, that readers are able to navigate their way through the magazine, which is why it's important to have an organised and well designed content page. The content page of a magazine is supposed to guide all readers on the contents of the magazine.  After a fascinating class on the elements of a content page, I have chosen three content pages of differing themes and styles to analyse: Content Page Analysis #1 Content Page Analysis #2 Content Page Analysis #3 After spending nights studying these content pages, I feel more confident in my ability to later produce incredible and helpful content pages of my own. It has truly been an educational experience. I look forward to working on the double spreads.
Critical Analysis of Magazine Covers To be able to create our very own successful magazine covers, we must first understand the elements and techniques which go into their design. Me and my classmates have spent the last week or so choosing the magazine covers which best appeal to our aesthetic senses and studying the nitty-gritties of all the components of a good magazine cover. After much pondering, I have chosen three magazines of diverse themes to analyse.  Magazine Cover Analysis #1 Magazine Cover Analysis #2 Magazine Cover Analysis #3 Doing this analysis and media studies in itself is not only teaching me things like better understanding the message of the creators and how to better project my own message to the world, but also, how to use various soft wares and program's which has enhanced my learning. Despite struggling with Canva at first and wanting to switch back to good old Power Point, I persisted, and in the process learned something new and useful. The
