Concept and References for Cover Photo Lighting I plan to use low key lighting as a symbol of the figurative darkness our generation is plunged in. The lighting is going to be be hitting the subject being photographed from the front, angled a bit high.   Camera Shots and Angles Not so uncommon in an indie music magazine are mid long shots on the cover picture and that's exactly what I'm going to be applying to mine. I'm going to be shooting these pictures using the eye level angle, representing that we all stand equal in accordance to the message of the artist.   Make Up I want to eye make up to be heavy while the lip make up is light. The former being based in dark colours, so it stands out in the low key lighting and the monochrome colour scheme and creates an even better contrast to the splash of colour I plan to add. Expressions I want my model's face to be serious but not somber as to represent the seriousness of the issues the
Final Cover Story Selection After much contemplation, I've decided to make my cover story, a feature of an artist and how their music and actions as an icon have proved to bring a great change and revival in the socio-political sphere. I look forward to penning the article down
Cover Story Ideas In class, we were told to brainstorm ideas for the cover story we wanted to have for the double spread part of our final tasks. After, we discussed the various ideas we had in regards to the sub types of an article; Review, Interview, Guide and Feature. I think the ideas i came up with are unique matching the concept of my magazine and definitely something my target audience will enjoy.
House Style Typography Masthead The font I've finalised for my masthead is 'Niagara Engraved' since it aids the sophisticated look I'm going for and symbolises the three dimensional depth of the artists I'm trying to portray. It will be situated on the top of my magazine, stretched left to right Body Copy The font for the body copy will be a 'Times New Roman' with a font size of  12.  Colour Scheme As mentioned earlier, the colour scheme itself will be defined by the artist featured on the cover rather to showcase their quirkiness rather than a fixed colour scheme. However, for this issue im likely to play with monochrome shades with perhaps a little splash of colour. Layout For the layout of my magazine cover, I have chosen the C formation. Sticking to convention, I will probably have 3-4 cover lines on my cover.
Unique Selling Points Our next task was to think of perks and quirks which would make our magazine distinct and appeal to our target market. The Power Point: The Presentation:
